THE Cebu City Government has released guidelines on how senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) can activate their cash cards to receive their financial assistance.

Around 15,000 cash cards were initially turned over by the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) to the Cebu City Government on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

The cash cards will be distributed to the senior citizens this month.

Starting January 2021, financial assistance of P1,000 will be deposited to their cash cards every month. The steps to activate the card, according to the Cebu City Public Information Office, are:

Step 1 - Insert Card

Step 2 - Enter 1 2 3 4

Step 3 - Press Balance Inquiry

Step 4 - Press Cash Card

Step 5 - Enter your NEW 4 Digit PIN

Step 6 - Enter again your NEW 4 Digit PIN for confirmation

Mayor Edgardo Labella received the cash cards given by Vivian Bisnar, manager of LBP.

Labella was grateful to LBP for helping the City Government in providing cash card financial assistance to senior citizens and for waving the P150 fee for each cash card.

He added that such a scheme would be more convenient for the elderly, especially amid the ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease. (RSR)
