Illegal drugs worth P194.2 million destroyed

LAW enforcement and local government officials in Cebu destroyed over P194 million worth of confiscated dangerous drugs through incineration at the Apo Cemex Plant in Barangay Tina-an, City of Naga on Tuesday morning, December 10, 2019.

Operatives led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) destroyed around 26.8 kilos of suspected shabu, 52 kilos of marijuana and 976 grams of cocaine worth P194.2 million.

The drugs were destroyed through a thermal incinerator owned by Cemex Philippines.

These drugs were seized from 40 courts of the cases from 1994 up to this year.

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, judges from 40 courts in Cebu and representatives from various local government units including the Cebu City government were present during the destruction of the illegal drugs. (SunStar Cebu)
