AN INFORMATION Technology engineer was arrested by personnel of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit-Central Visayas (Racu 7) after he was accused by his ex-girlfriend of allegedly posting their sex video online three years ago.

Alvin Anticarma, 38, was arrested by personnel from the Racu 7 and the Regional Intelligence Unit 7 in his house in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City on Thursday afternoon, August 11, 2022.

The suspect was captured based on the arrest warrant issued by Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge Merlo Pasco Bagano. Anticarma is facing four counts of violating Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009. The judge set the bail at P42,000.

Col. Ferdinand Raymundo, Racu 7 chief, who led the arrest, said the warrant against Anticarma stemmed from a complaint filed by his ex-girlfriend in 2019.

In an interview with reporters, Anticarma admitted that he had committed the crime; however, he claimed that he and his then girlfriend agreed to record their sexual intercourse.

But Anticarma’s ex-girlfriend said she didn’t know that he had posted their sex video on a porn site.

It was only a few months later in 2019 that the suspect’s ex-girlfriend found out that her sex video with Anticarma was posted on the web when an unidentified person sent her a link of the video to her social media page.

The ex-girlfriend immediately reported the matter to authorities, which resulted in the filing of charges against Anticarma.
