JIKFI helps Gun-ob fire victims

JUANITO I. King Foundation Inc. (Jikfi) sent aid to the families displaced by fire in Purok Ube in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City on the evening of July 13, 2019.

With the assistance of the local government unit of Gun-ob and the Department of Social Welfare and Development Lapu-Lapu City, Jikfi distributed 1,000 meal packs, including water and juice.

The blaze destroyed more than 200 houses in just five hours.

The fire damage reached P500,000, according to the Lapu-Lapu City Fire Department.

After the incident, Jikfi sent a team, which gave out hams and sausages at the evacuation center. Gun-ob Barangay Captain Eleonor Tumulak Pontanosas thanked Jikfi for its initiative and generosity. She commended the foundation for giving hams and sausages that were enjoyed by the children.
