Kasambagan fire leaves P1.8M worth of damage

THE fire that hit Sitio Panagdait in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City left at least P1.8 million worth of damage to properties, authorities said.

Eleven houses were destroyed by the fire that broke out at 11 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2021.

Investigators of the Cebu City Fire Office said the fire started at the house of Armel Sacil and his wife, Arlene.

Firefighters received the alarm at 11:06 a.m. and the blaze was placed under control at 11:31 a.m.

They had raised the fire it to second alarm after discovering that the blaze affected a residential area.

The couple told firefighters that their son, Intoy, was tending to their goats behind their house when he suddenly saw the fire coming out of their home.

But Intoy denied that he left their stove unattended, which caused the fire.
