A MAN was shot dead, while his daughter was wounded, after five unidentified assailants attacked him outside his house on Monday night in Danao City, Cebu.

Police said the victim Reynaldo Francis Torralba Alvaro, 39, was standing outside their house with her daughter, on Duterte Street, Barangay Suba, around 9 p.m., when the assailants shot him several times.

His daughter, Ren Michaelle, was hit in the left foot by a stray bullet. She was brought to a hospital for treatment.

No one saw the faces of the gunmen as they wore bonnets, police said.

A Scene of the Crime Operation (Soco) personnel recovered 10 empty shells, six deformed slugs, a slug, a defective airsoft and a magazine in the crime scene.

Investigators are checking Alvaro's background and his relations to detained "drug lord" Alvaro "Barok" Alvaro, who is an inmate of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Cebu City. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
