THE Juanito I. King Foundation Inc. (Jikfi) held an outreach activity at Lahug Elementary School in Cebu City on Dec. 21, 2019.

The foundation, led by Juanito King and Sons Inc. (JKSI), partnered with the King Group of Companies for the event that gave smiles to 570 Lahug families after they received bags containing grocery items for noche buena from two generations of King family members.

Jikfi dubbed the annual event as “Pakig-ambit sa Pamilyang King (Sharing Time with the King Family).”

“This tradition started with our grandparents Rufina and Juanito. With this annual event, we are reminded of the real reason why we celebrate the holidays,” said JKSI managing director Kenneth Raymund King.

He added that the annual Pakig-ambit event is an opportunity to share blessings to those who are in greatest need.

Just like what had happened in the past years, Jikfi led the distribution of the holiday giveaways for the families with the help of volunteers from JKSI, King’s Quality Foods Inc., Skygo Marketing Corp., Nito’s Auto Supply, 6R Group of Companies, RFK Holdings Inc., J. Nitton Development Corp. and Cebu SubZero Logistics Inc.

For many years now, Jikfi has been giving holiday giveaways for families in different parts of Cebu.

In Lahug, children took part in fun-filled games. The King family members and volunteers then distributed noche buena packages to the community.

The event wrapped up with closing remarks from Lahug Barangay Captain Hazel Ann Muaña Empleo. The holiday spirit was evident in the smiles of children and in the gratefulness of the families who received the goods. (S
