THE Lapu-Lapu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) has ordered all the offices located within the City Hall building and compound to dispose of their garbage directly to the dump truck that will park in front of the Sports Complex during weekdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

City Administrator Danilo Almendras, who is also a lawyer, issued a memorandum on the matter on January 17, 2023, upon the request of Cenro officer-in-charge Dr. Ronald Oporto.

Oporto told SunStar Cebu that all the offices should also make sure that their garbages are segregated to avoid issuance of citation ticket.

Based on the memorandum, Almendras emphasized that leaving their garbage bags filled with solid waste in any area within the City Hall and its compound is strictly prohibited.

Almendras advised the employees to keep their garbage in their respective offices for the next day’s collection if they fail to throw it at the designated time.

“Any violation or infraction to the aforesaid policy shall be strictly dealt with administratively,” said Almendras.

The city administrator added the owners of the garbage bags can easily be traced through its contents, comprised mostly of papers and other documents that bear the office’s letterhead. (MKG)
