Lapu-Lapu raid yields 2,900 butane canisters; 8 men fall

EIGHT men were arrested and thousands of illegally filled butane canisters were seized during a police operation in a warehouse in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City at dawn Friday, Sept. 27, 2019.

The City Mobile Force Company confiscated 2,900 butane canisters. Of the number, 192 were refilled and 2,708 still empty.

The police also seized 23 improvised refilling devices and 16 large (50 kilos) liquefied petroleum gas tanks.

The arrested persons are Dionesio Suplaag, 48, of Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City; Glen Nuñez, 26; Angelou Cal, 20; Randy Suplaag, 44; Antony Rey Cal, 23; Arjay Hatamosa, 20; Ricky Torrejas, 18; and Aljun Torrejas, 22, all residents of Danao City.
