ABOUT P28 million worth of illegal drugs was seized from a man who uses the name of a world-famous singer as his alias after he was caught during a drug bust in Barangay Babag 2, Lapu-Lapu City on Wednesday morning, July 7, 2021.

Suspect Roldan Canillo Rosales, known to his customers as “Shakira,” yielded 4.1 kilos of white crystals identified by the police as methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, after his arrest at 10:15 a.m. The value of the contraband was pegged at P27.8 million.

The arrest of Rosales was the third anti-narcotics operation that yielded millions worth of illegal drugs.

Rosales hails from Sitio Sip-ak, Barangay Sudlon 1, a mountain village in Cebu City. The anti-narcotics operatives of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) learned of his identity because the arrested street peddlers divulged his name as their supplier.

LCPO Director Arnel Banzon believes Rosales is not the biggest supplier of illegal drugs to pushers in the city.
