Man dies, 2 siblings hurt in San Fernando road accident

A 25-year-old motorcycle driver died, while his two younger brothers got injured when their vehicle collided with a truck in Barangay South Poblacion, San Fernando town, southern Cebu on Monday morning, Jan. 30, 2023.

Neil Bryan Solayao, 25, of Sitio Sampaguita, Barangay Tinubdan, Saturday, died on the spot, while his backriders and younger brothers Jay Solayao, 17, and Alvin Solayao, 19, were brought to a hospital in Carcar City for treatment.

Felix Taborada, 37, the driver of the truck that collided with the victim’s motorcycle, was taken into police custody.

The victims were going to school when they overtook a car along a curved road.

Neil Bryan reportedly encroached on the opposite lane and collided with the incoming truck.

Neil Bryan was pinned underneath the truck resulting in his death, while his younger brothers sustained severe injuries.

Taborada will be facing cases for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple injuries and damage to property. (GPL / TPT)
