Man, furious over breakup, stabs ex-lover

THE knife used to stab a 25-year-old woman was still stuck on her back when she was rushed to a hospital in Toledo City, Cebu after her former lover, furious over their breakup, stabbed her.

The police identified the victim as Jessierae Maceda Wabe, 25, who has a live-in partner and resides in Magsaysay Hills, Barangay Poblacion in Toledo City, Cebu where the stabbing incident happened past 6 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021.

The suspect is Jaypee Golez Pajaron, 33, married, and Wabe’s neighbor.

Based on the investigation of the Toledo City Police Station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Junnel Caadlawon said that while Wabe was buying food from a store, Pajaron arrived at the same store and suddenly stabbed Wabe with a knife.

Wabe tried to wrestle with Pajaron to take hold of the knife but failed.

After stabbing Wabe, Pajaron immediately left the scene while Wabe was rushed to the Toledo City General Hospital.

Pajaron was allegedly furious after Wabe broke up with him.

The police launched a hot pursuit operation at 7:30 p.m. and arrested Pajaron.

Charges are being prepared against him. (AYB/With NRC)
