A 24-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by two men onboard a motorcycle in front of a local restaurant situated at the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) in Talisay City on Thursday morning, March 7.

Kerwin Orais, 24, a native of Calape town in Bohol Province, was walking to work at the CSCR when upon passing Fe's Kandingan in Barangay Cansojong, an unidentified man suddenly walked behind him.

Patrolwoman Kris Puerto of the Talisay City Police Station told SunStar Cebu that the unknown assailant suddenly pulled out a pistol from a "buyot" or woven bag and shot Orais at the back.

A second suspect, wearing a full-faced helmet and onboard a motorcycle, then approached the shooter before they sped off toward southern Cebu.

Personnel from the Talisay Rescue and Emergency Assistance Team (Treat) immediately brought Orais to the Talisay District Hospital in Barangay San Isidro but he died before arriving there.

Puerto said investigators are still conducting further investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting.
