Man stabbed to death by neighbor

DENNIS Lagana Escarilla was just supposed to have lunch Wednesday noon, Jan. 29, 2020, but he never made it home.

Responding policemen found the 32-year-old lying in a pool of his own blood with multiple stab wounds.

Maj. Joemar Pomarejos, Waterfront Police Station head, identified the suspect as Rolly Dela Cruz Alfanoso, 40.

Escarilla and Alfanoso were neighbors and were residing in Sitio Silangan I, Barangay Tinago, Cebu City.

Investigation showed that Escarilla and Alfanoso happened upon each other on Arellano St., Cebu City when the former was making his way home.

Alfanoso allegedly accosted Escarilla before stabbing him repeatedly.

Escarilla was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Alfanoso was arrested in a follow-up operation. He is detained at the Waterfront Police Station. (BBT, RTF)
