AUTHORITIES are tracking down the first councilor of Barangay Babag, Cebu City after he allegedly shot his cousin during a fight yesterday afternoon.

Renante Bacarisas is the subject of a police manhunt after he shot the meat supplier.

The Mabolo Police Station identified the victim as George Ibona, 36, who was rushed to a private hospital in the city after he sustained gunshot wounds in his arm and neck.

Ibona, a meat supplier, allegedly argued with the councilor near the Babag barangay hall.

He was allegedly shot twice by Bacarisas.

The incident was reported to the Mabolo Police at 1:44 p.m. yesterday.

Jasmin Navarro, a resident in the area, said the two had an argument because of the recently concluded barangay elections.

Navarro said that Bacarisas is a good person and reportedly sent feelers that he would surrender to the Mabolo Police Station.

An investigation on the motive of the shooting is ongoing. (JOB, With PAC of SuperBalita
