THE 30-bed capacity of one isolation facility in Minglanilla town, southern Cebu is almost full.

In a phone interview, Minglanilla Mayor Elenito Peña told SunStar Cebu that he already submitted a letter of request to Department of Education Cebu Provincial School Division Superintendent Marilyn Andales asking to use the school in Barangay Lipata as an isolation facility, since two other schools in the town are being used as vaccination centers.

Peña said they only have one isolation facility designated for Covid-19 patients and had been asking the national government to put up another facility.

Peña said they continue to implement granular lockdown to some households with confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The mayor assured that the local government unit will provide for the needs of the affected families.

Meanwhile, Peña said that less than 50 percent of the target population in the town have been vaccinated. (MVE)
