THE Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) apprehended 935 violators of City Ordinance (CO) 2111 or the Anti-Smoke Belching Ordinance of Cebu City from January 2021 to March 2021.

A team from CCTO has been deployed on the road to stop drivers of both public and private vehicles that are seen emitting thick black smoke.

They conducted roadside emission tests to determine if the vehicles emitted fumes that are beyond the tolerable level.

Based on CO 2111, drivers of vehicles that violated emission standards are fined P1,000 for the first offense, P3,000 for the second offense, and P5,000 for the third offense.

CCTO urged drivers to maintain their vehicles properly so as not to inconvenience other people on the road. (NRC)
