INDIGENT townsfolk of Bantayan, Santa Fe and Madridejos in Bantayan Island, Cebu received free health consultations and treatments on Jan. 25-27.

The free medical, surgical and dental consultations were conducted under the auspices of the Bukas Loob sa Diyos Covenant Community in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York; the Catholic Medical Board of New York; and Fr. Joselito Danao, the parish priest of St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Bantayan town.

The medical mission was held at the grounds of St. Peter and St. Paul Church.

Medical, dental and minor surgical services were offered. The missionaries also taught the residents about health.

During the mission, patients were fed with morning and afternoon snacks while waiting to be attended to by health providers.

Toothbrushes, slippers, reading glasses, clothes and children’s toys were also distributed.

Missionaries did not only address the health issues. They gave holy rosaries and taught people how to pray the rosary.
