THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 said that they will continue with their internal cleansing after President Rodrigo Duterte declared he would raise the bounty to P5 million for every “ninja” cop killed.

Supt. Reyman Tolentin, PRO 7 spokesperson, said that even without the reward, they will still scour their ranks for rogue cops. “We will look out for those erring cops as part of our internal cleansing efforts. The organization is not perfect, but we’re doing our best in the internal cleansing,” he said.

Duterte made the announcement during a speech in Davao City last Friday.

“Kung dalhin mo sa akin iyang patay, P5 million. ‘Pag buhay, bigyan kitang P10,000 (If you bring me the dead body, P5 million. If alive, I’ll give P10,000),” he said. Tolentin said that with the Counter-Intelligence Task Force, they hope their drive will continue to collar cops who are involved in illegal activities.

“I can’t say if there are still a lot of them here, but we still have to arrest those cops who conduct illegal activities,” he said.

Last June, two police officers from the Cebu City Police Office were relieved and reassigned to the PRO 7 holding unit after they were captured by a surveillance camera inside improvised cockpit arenas on A. Lopez St. and the City of Naga. JOB
