SAYING he has no authority to cancel classes, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said there will be classes in all public schools in the city on Monday, January 21, or a day after the Sinulog grand parade.

In an interview, Osmeña said he has no authority to suspend classes.

"I'm not authorized (to cancel classes). Only the president can do that," he said.

Osmeña said he can only suspend classes in emergency situations.

"Unless there will be typhoon tonight, I can suspend classes," he said.

The mayor also warned that he will not hesitate to stop any Sinulog party on Sunday night, January 20 if the crowd gets unruly.

"So they must behave, they must not get rowdy," Osmeña said.
