Only two have filed their COCs

IN the two days since the Commission on Elections (Comelec) started accepting certificates of candidacy (COCs) of candidates for next year’s midterm election, only two persons have expressed their interest to run in Lapu-Lapu City.

Last Thursday, Pablo “Junex” Doronio Jr. filed his COC for Lapu-Lapu’s lone congressional district.

Benjie Dayondon, Comelec Lapu-Lapu City staff member, said Donorio was initially interested in running for the Senate, but he changed his mind when he was told that he needed to go to Metro Manila to file a COC for that position.

Yesterday afternoon, Genaro Tampus showed up to file his COC for a seat in the City Council. He is running as an independent. FVQ
