MORE than 2,000 grams of illegal drugs worth P16 million were confiscated in buy-bust operations in the Central Visayas in just one week.

Data obtained from the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7) showed that a total of 2,362.41 grams of suspected shabu were seized from 161 drug personalities in 115 anti-illegal drug operations from January 16, 2023 to January 23.

The PRO 7 credited the new system that they implemented in the fight against drugs for their achievement.

The PRO 7 also established a Center for Public Safety Analysis similar to that of Israel in its effort to reduce the supply of and demand for illegal drugs.

PRO 7 Director Brigadier General Jerry Bearis said he witnessed the effectiveness of the crime management system when he attended a training in Israel.

“The effective crime management of PRO 7 strengthens the social fabric of the Central Visayas community and promotes accountability and transparency in the PNP organization," Bearis said.

Bearis also reiterated his order to his subordinates to be diligent in their programs especially when it comes to their anti-criminality campaign, which is the key to maintain order and peace in the entire region. (AYB / TPT)
