P4.4M drugs seized, over 100 nabbed in operations in Cebu City

OPERATIVES from 11 police stations of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) have seized a total of P4.4 million worth of illegal drugs during the six-day anti-criminality operations from May 19-25, 2023.

They also detained 107 people for illegal gambling, 12 people for illegal possession of firearms, and 47 drug dealers.

They also seized 15 unlicensed guns and P6,776 in bet money.

Thirty-two wanted people, including seven on the most wanted list, were also detained by the law enforcers in the pursuit against criminals.

Meanwhile, CCPO Chief Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog said 40 of the 80 police stations in the city would have a police officer each to supervise the barangay tanods who will be conducting roaming patrols in the sitios.

He said the deployment of police officers in the barangays will be held within this week.

The police personnel will start working at 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. of the following day. (AYB/TPT)
