P7 million ‘shabu’ seized in Cebu City

MORE than P7 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in two separate buy-bust operations in Cebu City on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

First to fall to authorities were Joselitou Ebrada Tabalino, 38; Charles Joem Salazar Bacalla, 28; Danny Lepiten Montemor, 19; and Maximo Bulala Montemor Jr., 33; all from Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

The drug raid was conducted by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Central Visayas (RPDEU 7) in Sitio Eskwelahan, Barangay Buhisan around 8:30 p.m.

Confiscated from the suspects were shabu with a standard drug price of P4.7 million.

In B. Aranas road, Barangay San Nicolas Proper, another two persons were arrested in a drug raid conducted by the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Cebu City Police Office at 10:40 p.m.

They are Reymundo Alino Olaso, 28, and Glanes Agusto, 26, both from Barangay Duljo Fatima.

Seized from their possession were 405 grams of shabu worth around P2.7 million.

The RPDEU 7 and the CIU are now tracing the source of illegal drug supply of the suspects. (BBT, TPT)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
