POLICE uprooted more than 20,000 fully grown marijuana plants worth about P8.6 million in Sitio Koo, Barangay Gaas, Balamban, Cebu on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019.

Operatives of the Balamban Police Station, assisted by the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and other units conducted the three-day operation.

They arrested three men they believed to be the planters--Tisi Palando, Rodrigo Cabalis and Lordi Pragoso.

PMFC chief P/Lt. Col. Rene Kyamko, said they got a tip that a group of men were planting marijuana in Sitio Koo.

They had barangay officials guide them to the hills of Sitio Koo.

Kyamko said the planters used the terrain to their advantage to conceal the plantation.

The Balamban police and PMFC were joined in the operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Cebu City Police Office, Regional Special Operations Group-Central Visayas, the Naval Forces Central and the 47th Infantry Batallion of the Philippine Army. (From AYB of SuperBalita Cebu, JKV)
