METRO Cebu can expect a rainy weekend as an Inter-Topical Convergence Zone continue to affect Visayas.

Engineer Al Quiblat, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa)-Mactan chief, said Metro Cebu can expect mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and chance of heavy rainshowers during thunderstorm over the weekend.

However, he said, no tropical cyclone is expected for the forecast period.

Jhomer Eclarino, Pagasa-Mactan weather specialist, said the maximum temperature will range from 31 to 32 degrees Celsius with a heat index of 38 to 39 degrees Celcius.

Heat index is a human discomfort index perceived by humans as the temperature affecting the body.

He said based on their forecast tropical cyclone frequency, two to four tropical cyclones are expected this month.

"Padayon tang mag monitor sa atong mga gi issue na rainfall and thunderstorm advisories," he said.

The prepared names for the tropical cyclones this month are as follows: Carina, Dindo, Enteng, and Ferdie. (WBS)
