PB approves P40M budget for cash incentives

AT LEAST 2,000 regular and casual workers of the Cebu Provincial Government will get their cash incentives in time for Christmas.

In its last regular session for 2019, the Provincial Board (PB) on Monday, Dec. 16, approved the P40,175,000 second supplemental budget (SB) for this year.

The appropriation ordinance containing the cash incentives for Capitol’s regular and casual employees was filed by PB Member Glenn Anthony Soco (6th), who heads the committee on budget and appropriation.

The measure was approved on first, second and third reading on the same day with a one-minute recess in between each stage of deliberation.

Earlier, Provincial Budget Officer Emme Gingoyon said the SB will cover the employees’ Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) and Service Recognition Incentives (SRI) under Administrative Order 19 issued by Malacañang on Dec. 2.

They will each receive P15,000, which is based on their CNA. They will also get P10,000 worth of SRI.

Regular and casual Capitol workers will also receive P5,000 in Productivity Enhancement Incentives (PEI).

The PEI, though, is already included in the 2019 annual budget.

The close to 800 outsourced medical and non-medical personnel from LBP Services Corp., though, will not receive cash gifts or yearend bonuses from the Provincial Government.

Since they are considered to be privately employed by the Manila-based firm, Gingoyon said they will not get incentives from the Province.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, however, invited them to the Christmas party for all Capitol employees on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Capitol Social Hall. (RTF)
