PhilHealth offers better rates for Covid-19 patients

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will shoulder the cost of treatment of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients with better rates.

Arlan Granali, PhilHealth-Central Visayas area vice president, reiterated the report of President and CEO Richard Morales regarding the proposed recomputed case rates for Covid-19 treatment:

  • Covid-19 testing: P8,150 (all components covered by the package);P5,450 (if the kits are donated); P2,170 (PRC testing unbundled.
  • Community isolation- P22, 449 (with local government units overhead
  • Mild pneumonia (elderly) - P43,99
  • Moderate pneumonia -P143,26
  • Severe pneumonia - P333,59
  • Critical cases - P786,394

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit.
