INVESTIGATORS of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) sought help from their counterparts in Toledo City to solve the attempt on the life of businessman John Pearlnel Dinoro on Wednesday morning, Feb. 20.

Dinoro told police that the possible mastermind is living in Toledo City.

MCPO Director Julian Entoma said they asked the Toledo City police for help in investigating Dinoro’s sand-and-gravel business rival, who allegedly threatened him in 2015.

Dinoro will also be profiled by the police, which means his background and transactions will be scrutinized.

Entoma said they will check what caused the rift between Dinoro and his business rival. They will also check if he is involved in illegal drug activities.

Investigators also want to find out if Dinoro’s previous work as the driver and bodyguard of suspended Toledo City Mayor John Henry Osmeña has any connection to the incident.

Entoma asked Dinoro to divulge all the information he withheld from the investigators.

In an interview on Thursday, Feb. 21, the police official said the riding-in-tandem gunmen were amateurs as they failed to kill Dinoro.

Two men on a motorcycle blocked his white Toyota Fortuner in Barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City and fired at it several times.

MCPO has not received a letter from Dinoro asking for security, but Entoma told his personnel to patrol areas near Dinoro’s house. (From FMD of SuperBalita Cebu, KAL)
