Police on full alert Tuesday as Duterte visits Cebu

THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) will be on full alert Monday afternoon, August 20, a day before President Rodrigo Duterte's visit in Cebu City for the Eid'l Adha or Islam's Feast of Sacrifice.

CCPO Director Royina Garma said she has instructed the lower units to visit the areas where Muslims will hold their prayers.

Police Regional Office-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said the whole region will be placed under full alert starting 7 a.m. Tuesday, August 21.

He said all personnel are not be allowed to go on leave, but Muslim police officers are allowed to join the Eid'l Adha celebration.

A civil disturbance management team had been assembled to secure the venue in Cebu City where Duterte will hold a meeting with municipal mayors.
