Police uproot P4M worth of marijuana plants in Asturias village

THE joint operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, Police Intelligence Unit, and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office result in the arrest of a marijuana farmer.

Edwin Camaongay, 47, from Langosig, Danao City, was arrested during the raid of a 1,000 square-meter marijuana plantation in the mountainous area of Purok 1, Barangay Kaluangan in Asturias town, Cebu early Monday morning on Monday, July 26, 2021.

At least 10,150 marijuana plants worth P4.06 million were uprooted and burned.

Camaongay will be charged with violating Section 16, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (AYB)
