THE private company BauerTek Corp., in partnership a reporters’ group donated 15,000 reusable masks to the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu.

The three metro cities are regularly covered by the Association of Reporters in Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu for Integrity, Truth and Liberty (Armalite).

The group donated 5,000 reusable masks to the local governments of Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City and Cebu City to help protect their frontliners and the general public.

On Friday, July 10, 2020, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes received the 5,000 reusable masks handed over by Armalite president Norman Mendoza, a reporter of dySS.

Mendoza also handed over 5,000 reusable masks to Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan.

Mendoza said they still have to arrange the schedule with Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella.

These donated reusable masks are tested and certified by the government laboratories.

The level of protection of the mask is equal to that of surgical masks and higher than that of homemade masks.

It is highly water repellent, 85 percent to 95 percent, which means high protection from contamination through droplets.

It is also comfortable to wear as it has high breathability.

It does not ignite under specific lab test conditions and has passed the non-flammability test.

BeurTek Corp. and Armalite hope that their donated reusable masks will help in slowing down the spread of Covid-19. (KFD with PR)
