PRO 7 receives machine guns from Camp Crame

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 received 25 Israeli-made light machine guns from Camp Crame, but these will not be used in anti-narcotics operations.

Supt. Reyman Tolentin, PRO 7 spokesperson, said 15 NEGEV 5.56mm and 10 NEGEV 7.62mm LMG were distributed to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion and other mobile force companies in Bohol, Cebu Province, Siquijor, Negros Oriental, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City.

The mobile force teams are also tasked to conduct internal security operations, which include monitoring and going after rebels and gun-for-hire groups camping in mountain villages.

PRO 7 Director Chief Supt. Debold Sinas and Logistics Support Service Director Chief Supt. Restito Gatera graced the ceremonial turnover and blessing.

Camp Crame gave 15 Toyota Hilux single cabs, 160 combat helmets and 416 undershirt bulletproof vests to PRO 7.

The Highway Patrol Group 7 received 15 Kawasaki Versys motorcycles.

The new police vehicles and other equipment were divided among the police offices in Central Visayas. (KAL)
