Ivan Rey R. Tan

CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama announced the recovery, restoration, enhancement, development, and protection of city’s waterfront, which stretches from Barangay Mabolo in the north to Barangay Inayawan in the south.

Rama issued an executive order Friday, August 19, 2022, that instructs the Cebu City Waterfront Development Commission to perform necessary functions to improve the city’s waterfront.

Among others, the mayor announced the clearing of all structures that impede the outflow of water and the transfer of informal settlers along the city’s coastline.

The order is aimed to promote tourism and a step toward achieving a Singapore-like Cebu City. (IRT)
