Real estate agent may turn witness in Rex Fernandez slay case

Sunnexdesk

THE real estate agent who was with human rights lawyer Rex Fernandez when the latter was killed went to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Wednesday afternoon, September 1, to help in the investigation on the killing.

Rosinda Acot, who was earlier considered a “person of interest, turned over to police Fernandez’s personal belongings, including the documents and cellphone that she took from the lawyer’s vehicle after the shooting incident last August 26, 2021.

Fernandez was with Acot and his driver on August 26 when he was shot in Banawa, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City. Acot was unhurt, while the driver was wounded in the incident.

Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, head of operations of the CCPO, said Acot told them that she took the documents and cellphone to “preserve” them.

The Special Investigation Task Group is looking into the possibility of turning Acot into a witness in the killing. (AYB)
