AFTER a video of customers disregarding minimum health protocols at a resto bar in Barili town, southern Cebu was making rounds on social media Saturday, July 24, 2021, Barili town Mayor Julieto "Julie" Flores said he has already ordered the issuance of a temporary closure order against the establishment.

"I just learned about it too. As of this time, I already told my municipal administrator to issue a temporary closure order and I already coordinated with my chief of police to conduct an investigation why it happened," he told SunStar Cebu in Cebuano Saturday night, July 24, 2021.

As of Saturday afternoon, he said Barili police were already on their way to serve the temporary closure order.

In the said video taken by a concerned citizen, customers were seen not wearing face masks and face shields and not observing social distancing while singing along to a band.

Flores said only one establishment was reported to him regarding the alleged violation of protocols. The establishment was located in Barangay Guiboangan, Barili.

"They have a business permit but because they failed to implement the minimum health protocols amid the pandemic, we will issue the temporary closure order," he said.

Flores said the length of the temporary closure will depend on the result of the police investigation. (WBS)
