Rivalry among drug groups eyed in ambush

Sunnexdesk

THE police eyed turf war among drug personalities as the motive in the killing of a 26-year-old man in Barangay Pit-os, Cebu City on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 17.

The victim, Joselito Junio, was reportedly one of the drug personalities from Samar province.

Police Regional Office 7 Director Debold Sinas said the victim was an aide of a politician included in the narco-list of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma said Junio relocated to a subdivision in Pit-os two to three weeks ago.

“I received information that he was involved in illegal drug trading not only in Cebu but also outside Region 7 (Central Visayas). His network is wide,” she said.

“So we are now considering that maybe it’s a drug war between two groups because he started operating outside of his area in Samar,” Garma added. (From AYB of SuperBalita Cebu, KAL)
