AN INTERNATIONAL nongovernmental organization is hosting the biggest agro-tourism event for aspiring entrepreneurs and change-makers.

Sensecamp will take place at Formosa Camp Resort in Tuburan town, Cebu on Aug. 23-25, 2019.

The deadline for camp registration is on Friday, Aug. 16. An interested applicant can access Sensecamp’s website: http://philippines.makesense.org/sensecamp2019.

Launched in Berlin, Germany in 2012, several Sensecamp events were held all across the globe—from San Paulo, Brazil in South America to Singapore in Asia.

Several speakers participated in several Sensecamp events. They were professors Muhammad Yunus and Guenter Faltin, and Liam Black, Charles Einstein and Rodrigo Baggio.

Now on its eighth year, Sensecamp is coming to Cebu with the theme that focuses on agro-tourism.

Sensecamp wants to inspire everyone to become change-makers, or social entrepreneurs in their respective localities.

It is powered by the tools and methodologies of Makesense—an international organization of social entrepreneurs and active change-makers. The camp is being organized mainly by Makesense volunteers, making it the biggest volunteer-led agro-tourism camp in the country.

“Makesense Philippines has been engaging Filipino youth in the last four years with social entrepreneurship for social and environmental advocacies, such as sustainable tourism, agriculture and clean energy,” said Léa Klein, Makesense Philippines director.

Asia community developer Pepper Limpoco said: “I cannot stress enough how citizen-organized events are so vital in scaling social impact. The Sensecamp is a great showcase of how the community, comprised of people from a variety of backgrounds, can come together and organize a learning and networking opportunity for their localities. The Sensecamp weekend is full of fun and possibilities, and it is only possible through our ambassadors and volunteers.”
