A PASSENGER vessel that was headed for Surigao City returned to the Port of Cebu Wednesday, June 3, 2020, after its engine conked out while at sea in Camotes Island.

Medallion Transport’s mv Lady of Triumph left Pier 4 in Cebu City Wednesday night, but quickly turned back due to low pressure in the lube oil transmission of the vessel’s portside main engine.

The vessel carried 27 passengers who were stranded in Cebu due to the lockdown.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Erick Salcedo, Philippine Coast Guard District Central Visayas spokesperson, said the boat arrived safely back in Cebu City at 5:15 p.m. of June 4.

The passengers were all advised to board a vessel of Cokaliong Shipping bound for Surigao City. (WBS)
