Siquijor student nabbed for 'shabu'

A COLLEGE student was arrested during a buy-bust conducted by the members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7) and Siquijor Police Provincial Office around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in Barangay Helen, Larena town, Siquijor.

The suspect was identified as Gerard Don Cortez, 19, a resident of the said place.

Seized from him were six packs of alleged shabu worth around P6,800.

According to PDEA 7 information officer Leia Alcantara, they subjected the suspect to a case buildup for one month after receiving information that he was allegedly involved in selling illegal drugs.

The authorities are currently undertaking an investigation to determine who provided Cortez with illegal substances. (AYB, TPT)
