AS A way of giving back to the community, SM employees in Cebu pooled their own resources to buy cleaning and repainting materials, at the same time rendered services to the adopted school during the recent Brigada Eskwela.

Mall administration employees, together with different agency personnel from SM City Cebu, SM City Consolacion, and SM Seaside City Cebu, cleaned up the surroundings and repainted some of the classrooms and walls in Mabolo Elementary School and Mambaling Elementary Schools in Cebu City and Jugan Elementary School in Consolacion, Cebu.

The SM Employee Volunteerism Program spearheaded by SM Cares through the human resources department of SM malls encourages employees to exercise their social responsibility and to directly immerse themselves with the community it is serving.

The project is being done on top of the institutionalized community projects of the company that benefit children, senior citizens, the environment, farmers and persons with disabilities, among others.

SM Cares, a division of SM Foundation, collaborates with communities and various organizations that promote positive change.

Its programs focus on people and the community, environmental sustainability, disaster preparations and resiliency.
