THE recent Covid-19 vaccination in the mountain barangays of Cebu City turned smooth and organized.

Cebu City Health Department (CHD) officer-in-charge Jeffrey Ibones said the internet connection, which they first expected to cause a bottleneck, did not hamper the process of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination.

Ibones said two telecommunication companies extended their assistance to the City Government.

One of the telcos that partnered with the City Government is Smart Communications Inc.

Marylou Gocotano, manager of Smart Group Corporate Communications-Government Relations VisMin, said one of the goals of their company is to help the government of ensuring "no Filipino left unvaccinated."

“Smart has always shown its support to government-led initiatives that greatly impact grassroots communities," said Gocotano.

"Our efforts to fast-track the deployment of cell sites in far-flung areas have bore fruit, and it has been felt during these trying times where only reliable connectivity and signal will help keep us all connected,” she said. (JJL)
