THE Central Visayas Police Office is preparing for the resumption of the operation of Small Town Lottery (STL) starting Thursday, October 1, 2020, as they will inspect to see if they are operating legally.

According to Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro, Police Regional Office 7 Director, they will be shutting down and arresting those STLs operating without a license from Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

“Only the legal STL operator will be able to do the STL operation, so kanang mga illegal they will be arrested, our operation on anti-illegal gambling will continue,” Ferro said.

Cebu City has the highest number of STL operators, which is why Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Chief, Police Colonel Josefino Ligan has asked the help of PCSO to help his team in their operation.

Ligan is hoping to get a list of legal STL operators from PCSO so they can easily identify which ones in the city are operating illegally.

“Kung naa mi makit-an nga booth nga dili ilaha sa legal dakpon namo na diretso,” Ferro added.

Ligan also said PCSO Chairman and former Police Colonel Royina Garma will be visiting Cebu City to help in the inspection of STLs. (AYB with CBQ)
