Talisay City Health Office bags several awards

THE Talisay City Health Office (TCHO) received various awards during the 2022 Local Health Systems Awards sponsored by the Department of Health Central Visayas.

Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr. expressed his happiness at the success of the office led by Dr. Lino Alanzado.

Gullas congratulated the doctors of the rural health unit as well all its members, among others.

Talisay City was the top performing local government unit that exceeded the national target of the increased budget allocated to health, utilizing 100 percent.

It also became an awardee in the 1st Regional Action and Community Engagement against HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), having the highest PLHIV (people living with HIV) retention.

Dr. Rey Cesar Bautista, TCHO Aftercare program coordinator, and members of the Talisay City Social Hygiene Clinic received a special award for their efforts to treat and save illegal drug users who tested positive of HIV.

“My sincere thanks and appreciation to our City of Talisay Health personnel headed by Dr. Lino Alanzado for their genuine efforts to save Talisaynons by giving them access to good quality health care services,” Gullas said. (BBT, PJB)
