A “BIG-TIME” drug personality and her cohort were arrested in a buy-bust in Talisay City over the weekend.

Gloria Banquicio Morales, alias Inday, 45, was nabbed with her assistant, Jeenel Sahol Cabañero, 18.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Talisay City Police Station arrested them during a buy-bust inside a pension house on Mansueto St., Barangay Tabunok past 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019.

Capt. Nazarino Emia, deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said they had placed the two suspects, both residents of Sitio Mananga, Barangay Tabunok, under surveillance for two weeks.

“Clever ni siya’ng bayhana. Iya pa mi nga giduwaduwaan kung asa sila nga kwarto (Morales is very clever. In fact, she initially wouldn’t tell us their room number),” said Emia, who referred to Morales as the city’s “shabu queen.”

Morales took over the illegal drug business of her husband, who is languishing in the Talisay City Jail.

Emia said Morales is the source of the shabu sold in Mananga and in neighboring towns.

Police seized from the suspects three medium and two small packs of suspected shabu worth P82,000, several drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money. (FROM FMD OF SUPERBALITA CEBU / PJB)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
