Transition team formed for smooth Capitol turnover

Sunnexdesk

INCOMING Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia has appointed her transition team composed of four lawyers to take charge of the smooth transfer of administration.

The transition team will deliver today, May 20, a letter to outgoing Gov. Hilario Davide III reminding them that the governor-elect will not honor any midnight deals, appointments and transactions by the outgoing administration.

Garcia was proclaimed governor on May 16 but will only assume the Capitol post on June 30.

Lawyers Manolette F.E. Dinsay, Marino E. Martinquilla, Lito B. Astillero, and Frank Eduard C. Dinsay compose the transition team.

Manolette Dinsay said in a press statement that Davide should refrain from filling up vacancies, closing deals, and entering into contracts and transactions.

Davide should give the new governor an opportunity to consider names in accordance to her new policies, or revive programs she implemented when she was governor from 2004 to 2013.

Even so, Davide will still be part of the Garcia administration. He has been elected vice governor and will sit as presiding officer of the Provincial Board deliberations. (EOB FROM PR)
