Tubigon fisherfolk earn from bangus harvest

Sunnexdesk

THE Kapunungang Mananagat sa Potohan in Tubigon town, Bohol earned more than P151,000 from its recent harvest.

The fisherfolk group harvested 1,265 kilograms of milkfish, or “bangus,” on Jan. 29, 2021 from its floating fish cage established in the waters off Barangay Potohan. Each kilogram of bangus was sold at P120.

This endeavor was funded under the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Bfar) 7- Targeted Actions to Reduce Poverty and Generate Economic Transformation program, which aims to deliver “targeted” actions to improve the livelihood of the marginalized fisherfolk population.

The Bohol Provincial Fishery Office continues to monitor the status or progress of the Bfar 7-aided project to make sure that it thrives even amid the pandemic.
