Twins nabbed for drug peddling in Sogod town

Twin brothers were arrested for allegedly peddling illegal drugs in Sogod town in northern Cebu on Saturday dawn, May 21, 2022.

Lieutenant Phil Restauro, officer-in-charge of Sogod Municipal Police Station, identified the suspects as Richard Oriendo and Ricky Oriendo, 40, both chainsaw

operators.

Restauro said they conducted the buy-bust operations against the two in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7) after

receiving reports about their involvement in illegal drug activities.

Ricky Oriendo was arrested at 12:42 a.m. in his house in Sitio Bantolinao, Barangay Poblacion, while Richard at 1:15 a.m. in his house in Sitio Banghilig, Barangay

Calumboyan.

Restauro said there were reports coming from one of their confidential informants regarding the rampant selling of illegal drugs by the suspects.

The recovered pieces of evidence were seven plastic sachets containing alleged shabu, P400 marked money, P800 cash believed to be the proceeds from the illegal drug

trade and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects will be facing charges in violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (GDC, TPT)
