Two men caught for stealing telco wire

TWO men were arrested for allegedly stealing the cable wire of a telecommunications company in Sitio Sangi, Barangay Calajoan in Minglanilla town, Cebu on Sunday morning, May 15, 2022.

Minglanilla police chief Maj. William Homoc identified the suspects as Jovel Laila Codera, who is 21 and a resident of Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, and Jesthier Anog Lindayao, who is 19 and a resident of Barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City.

Codera and Lindayao have six companions who eluded arrest.

The suspects were caught in the act of cutting the cable copper wire of Innove by Ramil Mandanat Manlosa, 29, and Romeo Baricuatro Manlosa, 52. The Manlosas work as part of the Bantay Cable team of Globe Telecommunications.

Recovered from the suspects was a 50-meter cable copper wire worth P78,000.

The suspects will be facing charges for theft. (GDC)
