THE Visayan Electric Company (Veco) inaugurated the San Fernando Substation that will cater to the power needs of the residents of the town and the southern portion of the City of Naga.

The substation is located in Barangay Panadtaran and has a total transformation capacity of 12.5 megavolt ampere at 69/23 kilovolt, Veco chief operating officer Anton Mari Perdices said.

"The purpose of this substation is to provide ample and stable power for residential and commercial needs as there is growth in San Fernando," Perdices said.

Perdices assured that the operation of the substation will not increase the distribution rate of the residents in the area.

San Fernando Mayor Lakambini Reluya said the substation will also supply electricity to the 40-hectare public port that will soon rise in South Poblacion next year.
